Mission and Outreach

Mission and Outreach are our primary responses to Christ, second only to Worship. When the worship is over the service begins is one way we like to express this.

Mission has to do with making new disciples, bringing to people the good news of the possibility of a relationship with God offered in Jesus Christ, sharing our own faith so that others may also be blessed.

Outreach is the ministry we have in the name of Jesus to support those for whom we pray around the dinner table every night, those who have nothing to eat and no place to sleep.

Our Mission is at the heart of everything we do. Every worship service, every class, every social event we have is an opportunity to bring someone else with us to meet our risen Lord, to join the fellowship of faithful believers.

Three offerings listed below are specific mission ministries. The Alpha series for introducing people to God's Word. Classes in preparation for confirmation for preparing people for a more serious journey in faith and claiming as their own those promises made at their baptism. And the John Jay Institute, which prepares young people in a Christian world view for effective missionary work in the public square.

Our outreach is extensive in scope: The Manyoni Orphans partnership supporting parentless children in Tanzania, Northside Churches Cares by which we contribute food to a central distribution point to feed the hungry, and the many ministries through which our parishioners exercise their ministries of caring.
